The myth of the lonely writer slaving away in solitude only to be discovered by some questing agent is exactly that – a myth. In reality, writing and publishing are a collaborative process that requires a team approach: you – the writer – a developmental reader, a copy editor, a publicist who also handles your online presence, a designer for your covers, and an agent (or a good self-publishing company).
The good news? With technology, all these tasks can be accomplished quickly, professionally and inexpensively. It can also be done well, with panache and an absolute minimum of hassle.
